Alfredo Romero
- Sr. Pastor
Originally from Honolulu Hawaii, my wife Debbie and I have ministered in the Chico area since 1997. I lived in the L.A. area for a few years striving to become a "Rock Star". My whole life was centered around music and the spotlight. I loved Jesus and I knew He was real but there was no way I made Him relevant in my life. I was not walking on the path He had laid out for me. I was talking the talk but not walking the walk. My faith was dead without the works of glorifying the Lord.
I basically ignored the calling of the Lord for about 10 years going from band to band before moving to Paradise and re-dedicating my life to God in 1996. I became a worship leader then started the Christian pop rock band JBC from 1998 to 2007. I became a Pastor in 2013 and life has never been the same. Full of good times and quite a few struggles but God never gave up on me and neither did my wife Debbie.
I can also call my myself a healed by God, Cancer Survivor as of September 2026.
I am one solid example that God loves us and has a plan and purpose for each of us!
Debbie Romero
- Women’s Ministry Pastor
Originally From Minnesota, growing up in church, then moved to Chico to attend CSU, Chico. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Recreation Administration & relocated to Hawaii for 2 1/2 years where I met my husband, Alfredo. It wasn't until we moved to Paradise in '95 that I truly submitted to God's will in my life.
I've had multiple management positions, worked in volunteer management & marketing for the Girl Scouts I've been involved in woman's ministries, counseling, and managed a traveling outreach ministry band with my husband for five years.
Battling a Neurological disease since 2024, by the grace of God, my heart now reaches out to those afflicted with chronic disease & seeing the miracles of Jesus alive in the church.
I have a tender heart for women of all ages and love investing in people. I believe church flourishes when relationships are built & discipleship is the focus!
Tommy Wilson
- Associate Pastor
Tommy, now serves as Associate Pastor to Lead Pastor Alfredo. Tommy is also involved in leading the Community Bible Studies. Tommy previously led the youth ministry since 2011.
Originally from Grass Valley, raised in Paradise, Tommy has completed Pastoral education program and has a passion is to teach and share with others the truth of God's Word.
Pastor Tommy is also a dynamic speaker who shares messages from God with power, excitement and passion. His enthusiasm for the Word of God and challenging messages are looked forward to at Rock of Life!
Along with wife Mary, they have become a dynamic example of how a young couple devoted to serving the Lord, can make a difference in the lives of the youth and community. They also lead a Deliverance Ministry and together pray that each person can see their true identity in Christ and as new creations, we can all leave the past hurts behind.
Tommy and Mary also have 2 amazing children. Daniel born in 2018 and Ivanell, (Ivy) born in 2020. You can see Daniel and Ivy dancing and singing to the Lord during each service!
Mary Wilson
- Worship Leader
Mary, serves the Lord in many different areas. Along with her husband Tommy Wilson, she has served as Youth Pastor growing our teen/youth department. She also serves as one of our worship leaders and has an amazing voice that is truly a gift from God.
Mary is a graduate of Chico State University, completed her Pastoral Education, and formerly a school teacher.
Mary has experience leading worship and praise music at Champion Christian School as well as several churches in the community. She was also a member of a local Gospel team.
Along with husband Tommy, they are dedicated to serving the Lord and making an impact for Jesus as they minister to others the healing power of God in a Deliverance Ministry.
Pastor Mary is also a mentor to the young women of Rock of Life.
Zack McCoy
- Youth Pastor
Zack has been the youth Pastor at Rock of Life since he finished his Pastoral education in March of 2021.
As Zack states:
"I was born and raised in Paradise and live there with my lovely wife and 3 boys. I graduated from Butte College and volunteered with church youth groups since I was a teen into my young adult years. I have a huge heart for today’s youth, and want them and all people to know Jesus and who they are in Christ."
Pastor Zack teaches that the youth will know their identity in Christ Jesus the more they learn who Jesus is according to the Word of God.
Rock of Life leaders know the world is against the truth and we need to raise up godly young women and men to be who God created them to be according to His will and ways!
In Memory of Pastor Rick Stout
(Pastor Rick went home to be with the Lord on May 6th, 2018. We love and miss him and rejoice he is now home with Jesus!)
Our Lead Deacon Curtis Holder
Curtis Holder
- Deacon / Head Usher
Curtis originally from Brooklyn New York, joined Rock of Life in mid 2018 and immediately became family!
He has served as Head Deacon and one of the men's leaders for the past 5 years.
He played football at Chico State and semi-pro football with the Twin City Cougars. Curtis turned his passion for sports and has been a youth football coach for 27 years.
Curtis has an amazing testimony of coming to faith just before the passing of his wife in 2018. The Lord sent him a family just when he needed it and Curtis's re-dedication to the Lord has been an inspiration to the Men's group and to all.
Curtis as Deacon cares for the Pastors and the people of the Church with the motivation of serving the Lord first.
Deacon Curtis also assists in leading Bible Studies for the Men's groups.
